Panasonic EW-DJ10-a Portable Oral Irrigator

The cordless Panasonic EW1270AC is the best portable irrigator we've seen. While it lacks many of the features found in the Via jet, don't be fooled by the small size. It's a powerful machine with 1,600 pulses per minute. Despite its tiny dimensions (only 5` tall by 2` wide), it has a built in, extensible tip and an internal reservoir capable of holding 5 1/2 oz. of water. That's enough to irrigate for 40 seconds and easily refilled if you need to irrigate longer. Travelers will be glad to know that it only weighs 6 oz and no electrical adapters are needed.
